The Sri Vethalamkunnu Parabrahmakshetra temple is a unique Shiva temple located in Budhanur, Chengannur taluk of Alappuzha district in Kerala, India. The temple is dedicated to the formless Lord Shiva, known as "Paramatma" or "Nirguna Parabrahmam" in Hinduism.

The Sri Vethalamkunnu Parabrahmakshetra temple has a history of over 800 years. Before the year 800, it was a Buddhist temple.By virtue of the trinity, Parabrahman became Brahma with rajasic quality, Vishnu with sattvic quality, and Mahadeva with tamasika quality; Vedas, Bhagavad Gita etc. proclaim that it wears form, name and power. The temple is still an active place of worship today.

Devotees believe that worshiping Parabrahma (Shiva) will bring relief and salvation .This temple, which has a tradition of eight centuries that still exists today without perishing the imperishable traces of primitive Dravidian, Gotra and Shaivite culture.

The temple is the only Shiva temple in Kerala that does not have a Nandikesha deity. Nandikeshwar is the bull that is usually seen seated at the entrance of Shiva temples.

The temple is one of the rare temples in Kerala that is directly exposed to the elements of rain, sun, and wind. This is because the temple does not have a shrine or roof.

The rituals of the Sri Vethalamkunnu Parabrahmakshetra temple are different from the rituals of other Hindu temples in Kerala. The temple does not have Nalambalam, Balipura, or Thitapalli, and the rituals are not performed by priests.

The concept of the temple is based on Sarpant Gods. Lord Shiva, Bhadra, and Yogiswara are worshiped on top of the hill, and the serpent deities are worshiped in the caves below.
